he Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conference for Our Lady of Sorrows Church is composed of lay men and women from the parish who are called to carry on the work begun by Blessed Frédéric Ozanam in Paris in 1833. Under the patronage of St. Vincent de Paul we work through person-to-person contact to help people in need in our neighbourhood. We are part of an international organization whose mission is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy.
The members meet monthly (except in July and August) and perform the following works:
Due to the ongoing generosity of our parishioners we are able to send funds to more needy conferences in Etobicoke or to Toronto Central Council to help finance its special works, including emergency shelters and homes in the GTA.
If you are interested in joining the Society, or would like more specific information about our programmes, please contact the parish office and one of our members will be in-touch.
More detailed information about the work done throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto by Toronto Central Council can be found here.
